CR-Z Developments

The Honda CR-Z is a popular vehicle that many people seem to love. Currently it is offered as a hybrid. It has 112 horse power and a 1.5 liter engine. The engine is connected to batteries and electric motors.

Honda is planning to add a new, turbocharged engine for more powerful versions of the CR-Z. For example, adding a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine. These changes could include a CR-Z Type R.

There would be 2 new configurations - 160 horsepower and 200 horsepower. It is estimated that the CR-Z Type R would arrive sometime around 2011.

Right now, Honda is considering creating a version of the CR-Z sport coupe that is gasoline only. This could be popular with those who are leery of electric and hybrid vehicles for fear of being stranded.
