2011 Hyundai Sonata

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata is the perfect family vehicle. You get great looks, safety, power, and the Hyundai warranty and assurance that you expect. There are three trim levels to choose from. The GLS starts at just $19,195, the SE starts at $22,595 and the Limited starts at $25,595.

Standard features are front wheel drive with a 6-speed automatic on the SE and Limited, and a 6-speed manual on the GLS, which you can trade for an automatic. All models come with power 4-wheel disc brakes and the GLS has 16" steel wheels with full covers but you can opt for the 16-inch aluminum alloy. The SE comes standard with 18" hyper silver aluminum alloy wheels and the Limited with 17" aluminum alloy wheels.

All models have the standard safety features you expect from Hyundai. Electronic brake-force distribution, traction control system, active front head restraints, driver and front passenger side-impact airbags, seat-mounted front and rear side-curtain airbags. You also get the advanced driver and front passenger airbags that come with the occupant classification system, which keeps persons of small-stature and children safe from injuries that could come from airbags. All seating positions have roof-mounted 3-point seat belts and the front seat belts have pretensioners and force limiters. Got kids? There's a rear LATCH child seat attachment system. The rear seat has low-profile head restraints and there is an energy absorbing steering column and front and rear crumple zones. There is also power window lockout and remote keyless entry with an alarm.

All models have great fuel efficiency. The manual transmission on the GLS gets 24 mpg in the city and 35 on the highway. The automatic transmissions on all models get 22 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. Fuel tanks hold 18.5 gallons.

  2. LATCH systems are such lifesavers. I only want cars that have them.
