U.S. Hyundai Sales Up

Hyundai is doing quite well in the United States. The automotive company recently announced that it has seen a 38% increase in October 2010. The high demand for the Tucson sport utility vehicle and the Sonata sedan has led Hyundai to record sales.

Last month, Hyundai - which is South Korea's largest automotive company - sold a record 42,656 cars and light trucks this past month. That is up from a year ago, where the company sold 31,005 vehicles. In the month of October, the deliveries that Hyundai made to the United States were more than all of the deliveries made in 2009.

The Hyundai Sonata, which has been upgraded and revamped, outsold both the Altima made by Nissan and Ford's Fusion last month. Hyundai's increase in the use of leases seems to be what is having the effect of increasing their sales. October saw a 17.2 percent increase in the sale of new cars from leasing.
